Practical AI for Curriculum and Wellbeing Leaders

Term 4 waitlists are now open, including a brand new course.

Hi everyone,

Two six-week courses are running in Term 4 (October to November), both with an hour per week of live sessions plus recordings and resources.

Practical AI for Curriculum Leaders

https://leonfurze.com/curric-leaders/: AI for curriculum design and assessment, for faculty leaders, assistant principals, and curriculum designers across K-12, higher education, and vocational and adult education. This popular course has run for the past few terms and drawn educators from Australia, New Zealand, Southeast Asia, Canada, Europe, and the US.

Practical AI for Wellbeing Leaders

https://leonfurze.com/wellbeing-leaders/: a brand new course for wellbeing leaders, pastoral and year level coordinators, and school counsellors, covering the wellbeing risks of AI including youth mental health, social chatbots, and deepfakes.

Both are early bird at $1440 AUD ex GST (usual price $1800), and capped at 15 to 25 people to keep the cohorts small and collegial. Register your interest at the links above and I'll confirm your place on the waitlist.

On the blog: The Window of Critique for AI is Closing Fast

Large language model-based AI has almost reached the point where, for many applications, it just works. This is great for users, and even better for technology companies, but it creates a problem for technology critics. As the technology improves and is absorbed into the mainstream, it becomes harder and harder to focus the many limitations and drawbacks. And this isn’t the first time we’ve seen this happen.

In education, I think we need to keep an eye on the major tech companies and developments around AI Agents. Once the industry figures out the best way to deliver the technology, it will quickly disappear into the background of our day-to-day lives.

And finally, thanks again to everyone who has been providing feedback and support for the upcoming release of Practical AI Strategies 2. Not long now until the release!

Cheers,

Leon
