Practical AI for Curriculum and Wellbeing Leaders: Waitlists Filling Up

Hi everyone,

The Term 4 (Oct-Nov) waitlist for Practical AI for Curriculum leaders is filling up. This course is capped at 25 students to ensure a lively community and room for good conversations.

It's 6 weeks, one hour live per week, with recordings and resources available async. The course is open to Australian and international educators in all sectors: K-12, Higher Education, and Vocational Education. Early bird access is $1440 AUD ex GST until September 20th or when we reach 25 enrolments.

Click here for more information and to join the waitlist.

The Practical AI for Wellbeing Leaders course still has plenty of room! I'd love to see some of our wellbeing colleagues signing up for a similar 6-week program focused on deepfakes, social/companion chatbots, addictive tech design, and other mental health implications of GenAI.

On with the blog...

Is it a good use of the technology? Is it a good use of your brain?

Recently, I've been using these two questions to frame all my discussions of AI with staff, parents, and students. They seem simple, but when you scratch beneath the surface they quickly reveal a lot of complexity.

Which technology? How are we using it? Do we know what it's capable of? Is our knowledge current? Is the tech accessible?

Whose brain? Under what conditions? Is it your brain on a Monday morning, or a Friday afternoon? What's the "brainwork" being done here?

In this week's blog post, I explore the nuances of the two questions and how they take us beyond simplistic frameworks for assessment and learning and into a more sophisticated understanding of these complex technologies.

Once again, thanks to everyone who helped with the Practical AI Strategies 2 launch. If you signed up to review chapters a few weeks ago, you'll have received an email from me last week with a token of appreciation.

Cheers,

Leon

PS: Practical AI Strategies 2 is available for pre-order now from Amba Press, and is already hitting the shelves. Stay tuned to these emails because on Tuesday next week I'll be in touch again with more information, and some professional learning and courses to support the content of the book.
